My short experimental film, E215, will be apart of Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival 2014.
The film will be screened on Sunday 6th Arpil during the DreamLand 3 programme at Hawick, Scottish Boarders. Tickets can be found over at their website.

Alchemy film festival looks like it will be a great long weekend starting with the UK premiere of the Quay Brothers ‘Unmistaken Hands’. My short is being screened along side Scott Fitzpatrick’s UP, an experimental filmmaker who I came across last year on the vimeo vortex. Fitzpatrick work stands out to me for his simple idea of laser printing Microsoft fonts onto 16mm film. Reminding me that film is physical material. After manipulation the film enters warfare. Colours attack as the projector chokes like a rifle. Clip can be seen above. It will be fun to view his film projected in the auditorium… however I may have the wrong Scott Fitzpatrick, if so, I have sinned, forgive me…  But I still stand by the rule that if anything referencing Microsoft mid 90’s is a winner! Viva La Microsoft Clip Art!

My film, E215. is a meditative insight into my gran mother as she reflects on her old age. The film highlights that beauty can still be obtained from objects once seen as unfit for society. I spent 12 hours last winter observing them as they did their thing. My gran did not know her voice was being recorded and even today does not know this film exists.

A short trailer for my film, E215 can be viewed below.
