Opening with Jim Jarmusch’s Paterson, Leeds International Film Festival celebrated it’s 30th year. My film, Dear Peter screened within the festival’s “Nine Moving Stories: Short Documentary Panorama” programme (English Premier Oi Oi!) which included a Q+A with myself and the filmmakers behind short film, Venus. Good times! Venus, a intimate portrait on Venus Dimilo, a female drag performer. The film is directed by Faye Carr-Wilson and produced by Magenta Sharp.
The programme also included These Cocksucking Tears, a film that explores the life of gay country singer Patrick Haggerty who wrote and recorded as Lavender Country, an American country music band formed in 1972. The film has recently won the Jury Prize at SXSW, so it was great to see it projected in Leeds Town Hall!
